Emil Schram collection, 1942-2011.

This collection consists of oral histories in which Mr. Schram discusses his life in Peru, Indiana; his work for the Cole family, the National Drainage and Irrigation Association, the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and the New York Stock Exchange. His son, Daniel and his grandson R. Thomas Schram are interviewed and discuss Emil's life. There are also printed materials including copies of speeches and remarks made by Emil during his time at the NYSE and a newspaper article about him. There is a photograph of him and a portrait painted by Donald M. Mattison.

Emil Schram was a native of Peru, Indiana and worked for J.O. Cole; worked as manager of Hartwell Land Trust in Hillview, Illinois and at various other companies before becoming the president of the Mew York Stock Exchange in 1941 where he remained until 1951.
